Independence, Nature and the Great Reset
A clarification of what Naturis Sancta™ stands for, and what it does not represent.
Our position is simple
Naturis Sancta™ is an independent spiritual and philosophical tradition. It is not affiliated with, directed by, funded by, coordinated with or established on behalf of the World Economic Forum or its Great Reset initiative.
Naturis Sancta has its own beliefs, principles, practices and vision centred upon reverence for Nature, human dignity, freedom of conscience and responsibility toward the living world.
Why address the Great Reset?
The term “Great Reset” became prominent through an initiative associated with the World Economic Forum during the global disruption surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
Its public discussions included subjects such as economic recovery, sustainability, technology, inequality and the future organisation of economies and societies.
Some of these subjects inevitably overlap with questions considered by environmental organisations, governments, businesses, religions, philosophers and civil society.
Naturis Sancta™ also considers sustainability, technology, human responsibility and humanity's relationship with Nature.
That thematic overlap should not be mistaken for institutional or ideological alignment.
A fundamentally different foundation
Naturis Sancta™ does not begin with an economic programme, a model of global governance or a proposal to restructure society.
It begins with the individual relationship between humanity and Nature.
Its central proposition is that human beings exist within natural systems rather than outside them, and that recognising this relationship carries spiritual and ethical significance.
From that foundation emerge principles of reverence, responsibility, peace, personal conscience and respect for life.
Decentralisation and personal responsibility
Naturis Sancta™ favours change that can begin with individuals, households and communities rather than waiting for a central authority to redesign human life.
Personal conscience
Individuals remain responsible for examining their own relationship with Nature, consumption, community and the consequences of their choices.
Local action
Environmental responsibility can take practical form within homes, neighbourhoods, communities and locally appropriate initiatives.
Voluntary participation
Spiritual conviction should arise through conscience and voluntary participation rather than compulsory adherence to a centralised ideology.
Common ground does not mean common allegiance
Naturis Sancta™ does not reject an idea merely because another organisation, government, religion or political movement happens to support something similar.
Protecting ecosystems does not belong to one ideology. Reducing unnecessary waste does not belong to one institution. Responsible technology does not belong to one political movement. Concern for future generations does not require membership of a global programme.
Ideas should be considered on their merits and their consequences.
Naturis Sancta therefore remains free to agree with a particular proposition where it accords with its principles, disagree where it does not, and remain independent in either case.
Not a political programme
Naturis Sancta™ is not established to promote a political party, government, corporation or international organisation.
Its spiritual principles may have implications for how adherents think about environmental responsibility, technology, consumption, human dignity and future generations.
Those principles do not require adherents to adopt a single political ideology or position on every public policy question.
Freedom of conscience remains fundamental.
Naturis Sancta may therefore participate in public discussion where issues intersect with its beliefs while retaining its religious, philosophical and institutional independence.
An alternative measure of progress
Naturis Sancta™ questions the assumption that human progress should be measured principally through accumulation, consumption or material expansion.
A society may become technologically sophisticated while simultaneously becoming more disconnected from Nature, community and the biological conditions supporting life.
Naturis Sancta proposes another dimension of progress: whether people can live with dignity, meaning, responsibility and a conscious relationship with the natural world.
This does not require rejecting prosperity, innovation, markets or modern civilisation.
It requires remembering that economic systems are human constructions operating within ecological systems that humanity did not create.
Our independence
Naturis Sancta™ does not belong to the World Economic Forum, the Great Reset, a government, a political ideology or a programme of global governance.
Nor does opposition to those institutions define us.
Our identity comes from our own principles.
Reverence for Nature. Human dignity. Freedom of conscience. Peace. Responsibility. Respect for life.
Naturis Sancta™ is not a reaction to somebody else's vision of the future. It is an independent vision of its own.
